ETUDE 2005 Heirloom Estate Pinot Noir Carneros
Wine Advocate
Rated 90+ The 2005 Pinot Noir Heirloom reveals the darkest color, tannin and structure, but also the deepest fruit. Offering long, rich red and blackberry, roasted herb, forest floor, and gamey notes, good acidity, and plenty of tannin, it is a seriously-endowed Pinot to drink between 2009-2014. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.) December 28, 2007

ETUDE 2005 Deer Camp Estate Pinot Noir Carneros
Wine Enthusiast
Rated 96 This is one for the cellar. Dry and savory, it shows powerfully ripe blackberry, cherry, cassis and coffee flavors that have been well oaked, and the silky elegant texture of Pinot Noir. (Steve Heimoff) February 2008

ETUDE 2005 Temblor Estate Pinot Noir Carneros
Wine Enthusiast
Rated 95 This is Etude’s inaugural bottle of this wine, a block selection from the estate. Dry and complex, this wine has cherry, cassis, raspberry and new oak flavors with good acidity. An earthy quality suggests olive tapenade, sweet leather, tobacco and mushrooms – Youthfully great now, and should age effortlessly for the next 8 to 10 years. (Steve Heimoff) February 2008

Wine Advocate
Rated 90 The outstanding 2005 Pinot Noir Temblor exhibits more depth and richness along with complex notes of underbrush, forest floor, flowers, sweet red currants, plums, and a hint of blacker fruits. Medium-bodied with silky tannins and decent acidity, it should drink well for 5-6 years. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.) December 28, 2007

ETUDE 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Wine Advocate
Rated 92
This medium to full-bodied and exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color and a classic nose of tobacco leaf, black currant and smoke … It is spicy, rich and, opulent. 1-2 years of bottle age and should last 15 or more years. (Robert Parker Jr.) December 26, 2006

Wine Spectator
Rated 92-94
A big, rich, powerfully built youngster. Packs in layers of fruit in a dense, gutsy, concentrated style built around intense currant, blackberry and cedary oak flavors (James Laube) July 31, 2005

ETUDE 2005 Carneros Pinot Noir
Washington Post
Among our favorite reds - bursting with black cherry and plum flavors, balanced by light tannins, and perfectly paired with lamb and fresh goat cheese…The 2005 Etude Pinot Noir is lighter and silkier, making Etude a longtime favorite... September 12, 2007

Wine Enthusiast
Features a wonderful sense of balance and plenty of complexity. Chocolate, cinnamon and back cherry scents mark the nose, while the flavors add briary, herbal hints. Well-structured, with some slightly dusty tannins on the finish. September 2007
