Harvest 2007
We had excellent quality of grapes this harvest and we are looking forward to stellar vintage from 2007. This year commemorates the 25th anniversary of Etude’s first harvest. In 1982 Tony Soter worked long days and nights during that first crush with just one helper, and it was that historic vintage that helped put Etude and Carneros on the map for world-class Pinot Noir. We have steadily grown since, and we had a diverse crew from all parts of the world helping with the 2007 harvest.

The first grapes of the season arrived during the last week of August, and were exquisite. Our Carneros Estate vineyards provide perfect growing conditions for Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A morning marine layer with cool evening temperatures give the grapes a long, even growing season and allows the fruit to develop a balance of acidity and flavors characteristic of the Carneros region. This year was an excellent season in this respect, with moderate weather throughout and no major heat spikes. As a result we have small, flavorful berries with soft, ripe tannins.
